29 Hours.
Yep, you may have noticed that I've only added an hour on again today. That's because my instructor got stuck in monstrous traffic on his way to get me and ended up being late, so we only had time for an hour instead! Not that I was going to complain though, I really didn't think I was going to make it at all when I got up. I woke up at 9:30am, managed to drag myself out of bed at 10 and felt like I had a stinking hangover, coupled with the most horrendous head cold ever! I didn't even manage to get dressed till almost lunch time!
Anyway, by the time I went out, I was starting to feel a bit better, though I could've still gone to bed and slept the whole day! It all kinda went by in a sort of haze, so I'll apologise now if I forget anything and I'll try and keep it short and sweet.
Now we've always done manouvres at Seaton, Flimby, Moorclose and Westfield, so today we headed to Harrington for a change. My instructor took me to the worst reverse round a corner situation and said that if I could do that one, then I could literally do any! With that comment I thought, oh my god, I'm gonna totally mess this up then! Nope, I did it perfectly! Even though it kinda half turns, then straightens up, then turns again! Weird.
Oh yeah, before we got there, we headed to Lillyhall and I almost killed us trying to get round the roundabout! Ok, so maybe that's a bit melodramatic, but that's how it felt at the time. I totally misjudged my speed coming up to the roundabout and had to anchor up pretty sharpish to stop in time for the car approaching from the right. Anyway, we did one big circle and gave it another go, which was 100% better.
Then we headed down towards Scaw Road, twisting along, trying not to wander over the to other side of the road! I really do hate roads with no markings! When I pass my test I'm stopping in town!! That's when I did the reverse round the corner.
After that we headed back down into town for some parallel park practice. The first one I did, I managed to clip the kerb but I knew I was going to because I turned too soon! My instructor said the road sloped so that was why, but I put my hands up and said that no, it was my fault, not the slope. In the end we decided to blame it on the car waiting impatiently for me to get on with it so he could get passed!
By this time it was time to head home, so we finished with a nice parallel park outside my house! I was praying that my husband would've moved our car over the road so I couldn't park there, but he hadn't. :-(
Next time (Not next week, have a family wedding!) we're going to concentrate on faster roads because I haven't had much practice with living in the middle of town!
